Practical Skills for Business training (it's free!)

Have you been made redundant recently and/or been unemployed for less than 6 months?

Are you interested in starting your own business or becoming self employed?

If you are able to commit to four days over a period of 4-6 weeks and to undertake assignments between these days, then Practical Skills for Business could be the ideal course for you to prepare yourself for being your own boss - and to gain a qualification.

The workshops and completion of the relevant exercises provide candidates with an NCFE Level 2 customised training award, and, on production of a suitable business plan, the Chartered Management Institute Introductory Certificate in Business Start Up, which is a Level 3 qualification. However, the primary aim is to provide candidates with the skills and knowledge to start a viable and sustainable business. The emphasis is very much on practical skills that can be used within the business on an ongoing basis.

The next course will be running in February/March at STANTA'S offices in St Albans.

Business Training with Learn Direct

You know it makes sense, but how can you get around to doing it?

The Government is well aware of the need to improve skills in the UK economy, and that doing so will result in improved productivity, and better success rates for business; most business people agree with this in principle, but even large companies do not always do enough about it, and for small companies, the day-to-day pressures mean that training needs are often ignored, or put off, whether it is for employees or an owner-manager.

But what if you or your staff could undertake training as and when there was a quiet moment, or in your own time at home on the internet, or via audio download supported by scheduled conference telephone sessions? Would you do more? Could you improve your business performance?

STANTA, an authorised reseller of learndirect Business eCourses, now offers a range of training courses:

On-line and DVD/CD ROM from Learndirect covering:

These are delivered in a series of downloadable audio modules, supported by manuals/workbooks and with telephone conference coaching seessions.  Because they are delivered over an extended period, and are supported by phone-in sessions, it gives time for ideas to be put in practice and for people to develop new approaches and skills.

STANTA also offer occasional seminars on special topics, and workshops on business planning held with Barclays called Let’s Talk Starting in Business. For more information, phone Ginny or Mel on 01727 837760 or click here Monthly Update.
