What STANTA can do for you

STANTA can help pre-start, start-up, small and medium-sized businesses in a number of ways.

Advice

We are perhaps best known for one-to-one advice sessions and as a member of the STANTA Community you can access this as you need at no extra charge.

Training

But STANTA now provides training on-line and via digital media through learndirect Business e-courses and via telephone-supported audio programmes with Certain Change. The learndirect courses (special discounts apply for STANTA Community members ) provide a wide range of business skills training, including Basic Food Hygiene – for which as an RIPH accredited examination centre we can now also offer the examination for the RIPH Foundation Certificate in Food Hygiene and the RIPH Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering on-line at our offices.

Information & Seminars

STANTA can provide information on almost any aspect of business from the Cobweb information service database, but we also organise occasional seminars on important or relevant topics, not generally available at an affordable price or locally. STANTA also participates in the Barclays’ Let’s Talk Starting in Business programme, providing free one day workshops on business planning for start-ups and small businesses.

Mentoring: The Harvard ManageMentor

STANTA can now provide the Harvard Business School Harvard ManageMentor - a programme of manager support used by many major companies - and for under £120 per annum ex VAT. The programme provides a wide range of support from simple checklists to self-development programmes over 42 core business topics. Learndirect has has now for the first time made this available to small companies. In conjunction with STANTA one-to-one advice you can have a powerful package of support at minimal cost.

The Harvard ManageMentor is ideal as a support tool and resource for business consultants and and executive coaches to help support their work and broaden and deepen their knowledge.

Networking and Contacts

STANTA works closely with the St Albans District Chamber of Commerce and the Federation of Small Business, and has links with other local networking groups, as well as many contacts in local businesses and with local specialists.

Why come to STANTA?

You get a great deal of input free or for very little cost, from experienced people whose interest is in helping you, your business and the local economy to develop and not in making profit for themselves. See what our clients say about us.

STANTA can provide the objectivity, and impartial advice from a different perspective, supported by information from a major business database, and sometimes the useful contacts that can make all the difference to your success.

It costs you very little. Can you afford not to use STANTA?
